HARLINGEN, Texas - Orden Carroll Bakenhus, 72, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Harlingen, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Weeping Water. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Hammons Mortuary in Weeping Water.
Orden was born June 20, 1933, near Leigh, to Oscar and Martha (Otte) Bakenhus. He attended District No. 23 School and Christ Lutheran School. He farmed on the place he was born. He served in the United States Army from 1953-55.
He married Helen Tynar on Aug. 4, 1968. He later moved to Omaha where he graduated from accounting school. He moved to Columbus and then to Texas in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sisters, Esther Bakenhus and Arloa (Loren) Fittje; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bakenhus; and many nieces and nephews.
Orden was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lorna and Edna; and brothers, Orvis, Walter and Ora. [ColfaxDeutschlandPlatte.FBK.FTW]
