From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, July 24, 2002-
COLUMBUS -- C. Marcella Loseke, 86, of Columbus, died Monday, July 22, 2002,
at the Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville, Kan.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church in rural Columbus with
the Rev. John E. Nelson, Jr. officiating. Burial is at the Christ Lutheran
Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus
and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church. There will be a family prayer service at
9:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
Mrs. Loseke was born May 24, 1916, in Platte Center to Edward and Mathilda
(Petersen) Arndt. She graduated from Platte Center High School.
She married Albert C. Loseke on Oct. 10, 1935, in Platte Center. She then
became a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
She was very active at the church. She was a Sunday School teacher, member
of the choir, past president of the Ladies Aid and the LWML, coordinator of
the prayer chain and she worked on quilts for World Relief.
She was a lifelong resident of Platte County. She was also in the charter
LPN class at Platte College. After receiving her license, she worked at the
Columbus Community Hospital from 1969 to 1979 as an LPN. She enjoyed sewing
and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Naomi (Orval) Baker of Springfield, Ore.,
Dianne (Erwin) Fink of Herkimer, Kan and Stephanie (John) Kelling of
Waukesha, Wis.; one son, Bradford (Mary) Loseke of Beaverton, Ore.; one
daughter-in-law, Linda (Gene) Loseke-Cattau of Columbus; two sisters-in-law,
Barbara Arndt of Platte Center, Luella Arndt of Columbus and Edna Loseke of
Columbus; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Stuart
Loseke; an infant son; one sister, Leona Buss and four brothers, Walter
Arndt, Herbert Arndt, Raymond Arndt and Edmund Arndt.
