From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, March 28, 2004-
COLUMBUS - Elsa L. Hellbusch, 93, of Columbus, formerly of Creston, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Mory's Haven.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Columbus, with the Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. today at Gass Haney Funeral Home, and will resume Monday at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A family prayer service will be held there at 10:15 a.m.
Mrs. Hellbusch was born July 26, 1910, in Creston, to Louis and Helena (Janssen) Osten. She attended St. John's Lutheran School.
On April 23, 1933, in Columbus, she was united in marriage to Arthur C. Hellbusch. They farmed south of Creston for most of their lives before moving into town. Mrs. Hellbusch helped on the farm and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the church.
She enjoyed visiting with her friends and lunching with friends and family.
Survivors include one grandson: Michael Hellbusch of Wisconsin; one great-grandchild; one brother-in-law: Lawrence (Elsie) Hellbusch of Columbus; and one sister-in-law: Luella (Harold) Janssen of Platte Center.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one son: Vernon Hellbusch; and four brothers: Arthur Osten, Theodore Osten, Ernest Osten, and Werner Osten.
