Gustave W. Lusche, 83, Route 1, Columbus died Saturday at Columbus Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Shell Creek, with the Rev. L.E. Mortensen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
A prayer service for the family will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Tuesday and until noon Wednesday at Gass-Haney Funeral home. Visitation at the church is from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Lusche, the son of William and Emma (Loseke) Lusche, was born in Platte County, May 5, 1897. He was married to Elsa G. Siefken April 6, 1921 at St. John's Church. A retired farmer, he had resided northeast of Columbus all his life.
He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek, and a member of Lutheran Brotherhood and the Church Council.
Survivors include his wife and one son, Lawrence of Columbus; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, an infant grandson and brothers, Walter, Ernest and Alfred. [ColfaxDeutschlandPlatte.FBK.FTW]
