Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Shell Creek, for Alfred G. Lusche, 72, Rt. 1, Columbus. He died unexpectedly Tuesday at Behlen Community Hospital.
The Rev. L.E. Mortensen will officiate, with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Gass-Haney Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. Thursday until noon Friday; 1-2 p.m. at church.
Lifetime resident of this community, Mr. Lusche was a farmer and maintainer operator for Bismark Township. He also operated the Lusche store for many years.
Born Feb. 2, 1901 in Platte County, he attended rural and city schools, graduating from Columbus High School. On April 28, 1926, he married Stella Mary Welch at St. John Church, Shell Creek, of which he was a lifelong member.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Donna Jean) Henggeler of Lincoln and Mrs. Norbert (Willa Mae) Janssen of Golden, Colo.; one son, Gayle of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Gus Lusche of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm and Emma Loseke Lusche; two brothers, Walter and Ernest. [ColfaxDeutschlandPlatte.FBK.FTW]
