David Koch, 63, of Creston, Nebraska, died Monday, September 17, 2007, at the Faith Regional Health Center in Norfolk, Nebraska. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 20, 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Creston, Nebraska, with Rev. Dr. Marsha Jark-Swain officiating. Interment will be in the Creston Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M. Memorials may be directed to the Creston Rescue Unit or the donor's choice. Following the committal service, a lunch will be served in the Creston Community Hall. David Koch was born October 20, 1943, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Harvey D. and Avis L. (Pimpara) Koch. He attended District 45 grade school in rural Creston and graduated from Creston High School. On May 18, 1963, David married Fern M. Littelman at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, Nebraska. Dave was a mechanic and blacksmith, and owned and operated "Dave's Service" in Creston. He was a member of the Creston Volunteer Fire Department serving as fire chief for several years, the Creston Gun Club, a charter member of the Creston Lions Club, and the Creston Rescue Unit. He enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.
