Friday funeral rites for Mrs. Ella Groteluschen, 71, Columbus, will include a 9:45 a.m. family prayer service and 10 a.m. public service, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. B.F. Meschke will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John Cemetery 14 miles north of Columbus. Visitation today at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel; 9-10 a.m. Friday at church.
Mrs. Groteluschen, who died Tuesday at a Madison nursing home, was a lifetime resident of this area. She was born in Platte County May 21, 1903, and attended St. John School. Daughter of the late Gerhard and Anna (Deken) Fittje, she married William H. Groteluschen April 26, 1923 at St. John Lutheran Church. He died Oct. 19, 1943.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Verna) Dicke and Mrs. Ed (Joyce) Kuta of Columbus, Mrs. Bill (Janis) Means of Norfolk; six brothers, Herman Fittje of Boulder, Colo., August and Edwin of Columbus, Rudolph of Omaha, Werner of Colorado Springs, Pual of Humphrey; two sisters, Mrs. Johnny (Alvina) Gehring and Mrs. Julius (Lorraine) Gehring, both of Platte Center; five grandchildren.
Three daughters, Mrs. Rich (Evelyn) Nelson, Ruth Ann, and Lorna, and two brothers preceded her in death. [ColfaxDeutschlandPlatte.FBK.FTW]
