High School in 1959 and from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln in1963. She taught Home Economics in St Edward, NE and Jefferson, SD.. Gary and Diane assumed operation of the family farm in 1973. Diane worked in the Mental Health Clinic (State of SD) in Mitchell. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. She was active in as a Sunday School and Bible Class teacher. She was tremendously respected by her friends and neighbors as a very kind and generous person. Her pastor, Michele Venable in 1995, related that the whole town was deeply saddened by herdeath.
