      Rollo (Snooks) C. Wiebold, 86, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, August
      14, 2002 at the Columbus Community Hospital. A memorial service will be held
      at 10:30 AM, Monday, August 19, 2002 at the Gass Haney Funeral Home with
      Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Private family interment will be held at
      Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus with military honors by American
      Legion Honor Guard, Hartman Post 84.

      Rollo (Snooks) C. Wiebold, 86, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, August
      14, 2002 at the Columbus Community Hospital. A memorial service will be held
      at 10:30 AM, Monday, August 19, 2002 at the Gass Haney Funeral Home with
      Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Private family interment will be held at
      Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus with military honors by American

      Rollo (Snooks) Wiebold was born September 30, 1915 in Leigh, Nebraska to
      Christian and Fannie (Black) Wiebold. He attended schools in Leigh and
      Schuyler High School in Schuyler, Nebraska. Before entering the service
      Rollo worked for the Anderson Greenhouse in Columbus. He married Helen
      Jaeggi on April 20, 1941 in Papillion, Nebraska. He entered the US Army on
      June 6, 1942 and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1945. He obtained
      the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the bronze star medal for his
      meritorious achievement in ground combat against the armed enemy during WW
      II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations.

      Rollo worked in the meat department at Hinky Dinky in Columbus. He later
      went to work for the REA (now known as Cornhusker Public Power) where he
      worked as a groundsman and lineman. Rollo was a member of the American
      Legion, was an avid reader, loved to play cards, work cross word puzzles and
      work in his yard and vegetable garden.
