COLUMBUS - Adela Augusta Runge, 93, of Columbus, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at her home.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Shell Creek Church in rural Columbus, with the Rev. Peter Jark-Swain officiating. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus, and from 1-2 p.m., with a family prayer service at 1:45 p.m., Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Runge was born Sept. 28, 1910, in Bloomfield to John and Catherine (Dicke) Siefken. She attended rural District 44 School and Columbus High School.
She married August Runge June 12, 1929, in rural Columbus. She was a homemaker.
She was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Shell Creek Church and the Birthday Club. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, crafts and playing cards.
Survivors include five sons, August Jr. (Carylyn) Runge, Allen "Doc" (Joyce) Runge, Al Dale Runge, Arlyn "Butch" (Debra) Runge, all of Columbus, and Arthur (Kay) Runge of Duncan; two daughters, Alice (Dennis) Sander of Columbus and Ardyth (Ervin) "Ted" Engel of Richland; 28 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Arlo Runge; six sisters, Anna Siefken, Elsa Lusche, Louisa Benning, Wilhelmina Labens, Helen Siefken, and Martha Warlaumont; two brothers, Carl and John Siefken; and daughter-in-law, Terrie Runge.
