Edna M. Loseke, 95, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Mory's Haven Nursing Home in Columbus.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 13, 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church in rural Columbus with Rev. John E. Nelson Jr. and Vicar Mike Stockmeyer officiating. Interment will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M. Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran School Building Fund or the donor's choice.
Edna Loseke was born on January 20, 1912, in Platte Center, Nebraska, to Carsten and Alvina (Hoefelman) Petersen. She was baptized, confirmed, and attended Zion Lutheran Church and School (west of Platte Center), graduating from Platte Center High School. On December 4, 1935, Edna married Harold M. Loseke at Zion Lutheran Church. They moved to a farm north of Columbus where they lived for 58 years. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, and was the oldest member of the congregation at the time of her death. Edna served as the congregational secretary for 25 years, held offices in Ladies Aid, and was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League serving on the Nebraska Executive Board for the North District for eight years. She also taught Sunday School, and was active in the Altar Guild and the Lutheran Laymen's League. Edna enjoyed gardening, sewing, the outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Daughter - Glenda (Tom) Kleinkauf of Hutchinson, MN
Grandchildren - Kim Kleinkauf, Jill (Jon) Riley, and Lynn Kleinkauf
Sister - Mabel Eilers of Mesa, AZ
