From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, September 14, 2001-
Julius Hollman, 95, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, September 14, 2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Columbus, on Monday, September 17, 2001 at 10:30 AM with Rev. John E. Nelson Jr. officiating. Interment will be at the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Sunday, September 16, 2001 from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM and at Christ Lutheran Church on Monday, September 17, 2001 from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. There will be a family prayer service on Monday at 10:15 AM at the church.
Julius W. Hollman was born May 3, 1906 in rural Platte County, Nebraska to David Edward & Clara (Kreye) Hollman. Julius grew up on the farm and attended School District #48 and also Christ Lutheran School. He continued to farm and on September 2, 1931 he married Lucy Lueschen at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leigh, Nebraska. Julius farmed his entire life in the Platte County area. Julius was a member of the Lutheran Laymens League and also the Mens Bible Breakfast group. He was a former officer in the Izaak Walton League and past Elder, Trustee, and school board member for Christ Lutheran School. Julius was an avid bowler and was a member of the Senior Bowling League.
