SCHUYLER - Laurn W. Oltmer, Sr., 71, of Schuyler died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at Alegent Health Memorial Hospital in Schuyler.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Schuyler with the Rev. Erick Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Schuyler Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon-8 p.m. Friday at the Svoboda Funeral Home South Chapel in Schuyler and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Mr. Oltmer was born Nov. 16, 1929, at Creston to Walter J. and Anna E. (Ehler)(SIC) Oltmer. He attended school in Olathe, Kan.
He married Dorothy Hashberger on June 1, 1954, at Schuyler. He was an electrician and worked for Modern Electric in Schuyler and then for the City of Schuyler.
He was a member of the church and the Schuyler Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Laurn (Kay) Oltmer, Jr. of Curtis; one daughter, Teresa (Gene) Andel of David City; 10 grandchildren; one brother, LaVern (Marge) Oltmer of Belton, Texas; and one sister, Delores Meister of Lacyne, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edward Oltmer and Merlyn Oltmer.
