From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, May 14, 2002-
LEIGH -- Randolph "Randy" Molacek, 76, of Leigh died Saturday, May 11, 2002,
at Colonial Manor in Clarkson.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational Church in
Leigh with the Rev. Gail Axen officiating. Burial will be at Leigh Cemetery
with military rites by American Legion Sucha Post 302 of Leigh.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Leigh Memorial Funeral Chapel and
9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Molacek was born July 25, 1925, at Howells to Joseph F. and Emma (Vacha)
Molacek. He attended rural School District 48 north of Leigh and received
his honorary GED through the Veteran Affairs.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.
He spent a six-month tour of duty in Japan. He was enlisted in March 1946
and was discharged honorably in March 1947.
He married Betty Buckendahl on May 9, 1947, at Stanton. Together they farmed
until 1974 when they moved into Leigh. He was employed at Spanhake Implement
and Maple Valley Co-op where he retired in 1989. After his retirement, he
helped with the farming operations at Folken Feed Yards.
He was a member of the church where he had served as a deacon and trustee.
He was a member of the American Legion Sucha Post 302 at Leigh and the Leigh
Commercial Club.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Bonnie (Robert) Bierman of
Columbus and Jolene (Richard) Wurdeman of Omaha; six grandchildren; two
sisters, Palma Schwarz of Billings, Mont., and Adella Schutt of Gretna; and
one brother, Lloyd (Katherine) Molacek of Stanton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joseph Molacek Jr.[ColfaxDeutschlandPlatte.FBK.FTW]
