      From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, April 9, 2003-

      LEIGH - Irvin R. Mohnsen, 91, of Leigh, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at
      Alegent Health Memorial Hospital in Schuyler.

      Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Leigh with
      the Rev. Peter Jark-Swain officiating. Burial will be in the Leigh Cemetery.

      Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

      Mr. Mohnsen was born Dec. 5, 1911, to John and Frieda (Flamme) Mohnsen at
      Howells. His family moved to a farm north of Leigh in 1912. He attended
      District 54 Colfax County and one year at Leigh High School.

      He married Meta Wiese in Fremont on April 15, 1941, in Fremont. They lived
      on several farms in Stanton County before purchasing the Wiese farm in 1952
      northeast of Leigh.

      He was a member of the church, served on District 31 School Board for 12
      years, and was a member of the Leigh Rural Fire Board for 28 years. He
      enjoyed fishing and hunting. He retired from farming in 1976. For the last
      year and a half, he was a resident of Colonial Manor in Clarkson.

      Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald (Nancy) Mohnsen of Leigh and
      Allan Mohnsen of Columbus; two brothers, Earl (Phoebe) Mohnsen of Van Nuys,
      Calif., and Oliver (Darlene) Mohnsen of Big Stone City, S.D.; and two
      grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold Mohnsen; and an
      infant sister.
