From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, July 7, 2002-
COLUMBUS -- Irma Marty, 87, of Columbus, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in Columbus.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiating. Burial will be at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in rural Columbus.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday at Gass Haney Funeral Home and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. A family prayer service will be 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Ms. Marty was born November 9, 1914, to Gottfried and Maria (Brock) Marty in Leigh. She attended Christ Lutheran School in rural Columbus.
She worked in Columbus at the former Boyd Hardware Store and at Becton Dickinson for 22 year. She was an active member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and formerly in the choir and the Walther League.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Gottfried Marty, Walter Marty, Emil Marty, Otto Marty, Arthur Marty, and Ernst Marty; five sisters, Clara Johannes, Marie Wilke, Anna Buelow, Rose Ludwig and Mathilda Marty.
Memorial are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or donors choice.
