SCHUYLER - Edna A. H. Jura, 86, of Schuyler died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002,
at Beverly Nursing Center in Schuyler.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Schuyler with
the Rev. Paul Lutter officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in
Columbus.
Visitation will be noon-8 p.m. Friday at the Svoboda Funeral Home North
Chapel in Schuyler and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Jura was born Aug. 22, 1915, in Leigh to Ben and Emma (Asche)
Mackenstadt. She attended Wilson School in Colfax County and graduated from
Kramer High School in Columbus in 1932. She attended Wayne State Teachers
College and Midland College.
She married Joseph J. Jura on June 7, 1942, in Stanton.
She taught school for more than 54 years in Colfax, Platte, Butler and
Madison counties as well as in Richland and St. Anthony's Catholic School in
Columbus. She retired in 1985.
She was a member of the church, the Eagles Auxiliary, the American Legion
Auxiliary and the Nebraska State Education Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy (John) Dufek of Omaha; three sons, Jim
Jura of Springfield, Mo., Chuck (Janet) Jura of Columbus and Dan (Peggy)
Jura of St. Louis; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 14, 1995; and two brothers,
