COLUMBUS - Mildred Bruhn, 85, of Columbus, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Columbus Community Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, with the Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Burial is at Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, with a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service, at the church.
Mrs. Bruhn was born April 4, 1919, in Leigh, to Dan and Minnie (Greaser) Bauman. She attended Colfax County District 41 School. She worked for several farm families in the Leigh area.
She married Earl Bruhn Sept. 30, 1939, in York. She worked at Columbus Laundry, Jordon's Bakery and retired from Becton-Dickinson. She helped raise several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the church, Ladies Aid, Naomi Circle, Navy Mothers and volunteered at the Columbus Senior Center.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Bruhn and Lavern (Signe) Bruhn, both of Columbus; three sisters, Evelyn "Tootsie" Bray of Columbus, Dorothy (Lavern) Thalken of Leigh and Sharon Bauman of Creighton; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Ruth Tichota and Elzada "Seedie" Gernstein; and one brother, John Bauman.
Memorials are suggested to donor's choice.
