      From THE GASS HANEY FUNERAL HOME ARCHIVES-

      Beverly Ann Franzen, 71, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

      The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 12, 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Timothy White officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, rural Columbus. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M. Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

      Beverly Franzen was born May 15, 1937, in Creston, Nebraska, to Helmuth and Jessie (Wilkens) Loseke. She attended Creston Public Schools graduating in 1955 and attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska. Bev taught school in Platte County. On June 1, 1956, Bev was united in marriage to Myron Franzen in Creston. The couple made there home in Columbus before moving to Albion in 1965. While in Albion, Bev worked for the Albion Public Schools. In 1969, the family moved back to Columbus and Bev began working for the Columbus Public School system in the Guidance Department of the Junior High School, retiring in 1980. Beverly was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Peace Circle. She enjoyed having coffee with friends and spending time with her grandchildren.
