      From THE GASS HANEY FUNERAL ARCHIVES-

      Sharon Johannes, 63, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

      The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 24, 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M. Memorials may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation or Family Choice.

      Sharon M. Johannes was born December 19, 1945, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Clarence and Viola (Lueke) Leimser. Sharon grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1964. On October 9, 1971, Sharon married Arlyn Johannes in Columbus. Sharon worked in banking, insurance, and at Lakeview High School for many years. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
