Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Columbus, on Saturday, July 05, 2003 at 10:30 AM with Rev. John E. Nelson, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Friday, from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM and at Christ Lutheran Church on Saturday, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. There will be a family prayer service on Saturday at 10:15 AM at the church. Ruth M. Wilke was born February 20, 1905 in Lyons, Nebraska to Rev. J. Paul and Marie (Ruhland) Kuehnert. At the age of 13, the family moved to rural Columbus where her father was a minister at Christ Lutheran Church. She attended District 15 grade school and graduated from Columbus High School. She married Gottlieb Wilke on September 16, 1925 at Christ Lutheran Church with her father presiding. They made their home in the Christ Lutheran area. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid and a member of LWML.
