Leona Siefken passed away Aug. 4, 2009.
Leona was born July 4,1924, on a farm near Leigh to William and Clara (Marty) Johannes. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran church in Leigh.
She married Elmer Heins on May 26, 1943, and they moved to Platte Center. Elmer died on Jan. 11,1944, and Leona moved to Columbus where she worked at JC Penney's and Becton-Dickinson.
She married Paul Siefken on July 26, 1945. They lived on the farm north of Columbus until June 1961 when they moved to Denver, Colo.
She is survived by her children, Leon, Dale & Darlynn; three grandchildren, Michael, Todd and Kimberly; six great-grandchildren, Melody, Stephen, Heath, Ashleigh, Grason, Sophie; one sister, Alice Aerni of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Heins and second husband, Paul Siefken; one brother, Paul Johannes; one sister, Hilda Littelman; and one infant sister.
