      RAPID CITY, S.D. - Kenneth "Bud" Morris Jerke, 68, of Rapid City, S.D., died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at his home.

      Services are 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kirk Funeral Home with Paul Clement officiating. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard.

      Visitation will be at Kirk Funeral Home on Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

      Mr. Jerke was born May 7, 1936, in Delmont, S.D., to Emanuel and Catherine (Rauscher) Jerke where he grew up and graduated high school.

      He served in the Air Force from February 1955 to December 1958.

      On Aug. 23, 1958, he married Dorothey Frickman in Boothwyn, Pa. He was a self employed general contractor. The family lived in Delaware, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado before retiring to Rapid City in 2000. While living in Nebraska, Bud owned and operated a motorcycle repair business and built custom homes.

      During the 20 years they lived in Colorado, he owned a dry wall business where he and his son, Rod, worked together. Upon retirement, he continued to do dry wall work in Rapid City.

      He enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles.

      Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rod (Jana) Jerke and Scott Jerke, all of Rapid City; one daughter, Sue (Andy Wurdeman) Wurdeman of Black Hawk, S.D.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sandra Chavanu of Columbus.

      He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
