LEIGH - Lavern Asche, 92, of Leigh, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Alegent Health Memorial Hospital in Schuyler.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh with the Rev. Terry Timm officiating. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Leigh Memorial Funeral Chapel and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Asche was born Nov. 24, 1911, in rural Platte County near Leigh to William and Bertha (Loseke) Asche. He attended Platte County School District 78 and Zion Lutheran School in Leigh. He was a lifetime member of the church.
He married Helen Herbst on Aug. 30, 1936, at Leigh. After marriage, they farmed northwest of Leigh until their retirement in 1984. He enjoyed farming, working with neighbors, playing cards and sports.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marlene (Milo) Dvorak of Garland, Texas, and Marva (Curtis) Dowty of Belleville, Ill.; one sister, Lorinda Asche of Leigh; and four grandchildren.?
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Stella Reins.[ColfaxDeutschlandPlatte.FBK.FTW]
