COLUMBUS -- Harold W. Groteluschen, 83, of Columbus died Monday, Aug. 26, 1996, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in rural Columbus with the Rev. Carl Lilienkamp officiating and the Rev. Norman Grotelueschen assisting. Burial is at the parish cemetery.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Friday at the Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel of Columbus and 9:30 a.m. until services Saturday with a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service at the church.
Mr. Groteluschen was born June 19, 1913, at Columbus to Adolf and Katherine (Finke) Grotelueschen and attended Christ Lutheran and Immanuel Lutheran schools and Columbus High School.
He married Dorothy Dirks Oct. 9, 1940, at Columbus, where they farmed. He was a supervisor with Soil and Water Conservation.
He was a member of the Columbus Apollo Club, Farm Bureau and Farmer's Home Administration.
He was a member of the church, a member of the church choir for 55 years and sang in the Christ Lutheran men's quartet, the Lutheran Laymen's League, and agencies of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod on zone, district and state levels.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Karen Bauder and Jean Schmidt, both of Chicago; Suzanne Bryson of Denver, Gaye Nelson of York and Faith Meinzen of Mahomet, Ill.; two sons, Ralph of East Moline, Ill.; and Grant of Columbus; two sisters, Elva Gruenhage and Louise Barjenbruch, both of Columbus; two brothers, Roland of Kansas City, Mo., and the Rev. Norman of Memphis, Tenn.; and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, one sister and four brother
