COLUMBUS -- Elmer W. Grotelueschen, 75, 874 26th Ave., died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at his home.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home of Columbus with the Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Burial is at St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery with military honors conducted by Hartman Post 84 American Legion Honor Guard.
Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until services Tuesday at the funeral hom
Mr. Grotelueschen was born July 30, 1921, in Colfax County to William and Clara (Johannes) Grotelueschen.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Elizabeth Gdowski Sept. 9, 1951, in Columbus.
On March 26, 1988, he married Margaret Dvorak. He lived in Schuyler and Columbus where he worked at the Columbus Grain Co. He enjoyed lawn care and gardening.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Karen (Jan) Dvorak; three stepdaughters, Melissa Hart of Hastings, Kathy Uhling of Craig and Ellie Doughty of Columbus; three stepsons, Vladimir Dvorak of Wasilla, Alaska and Jan Dvorak and Tom Gdowski, both of Columbus; four brothers, Edgar of Attica, Mich., Hilbert of Omaha, Raymond of Fremont and Albert of Octavia; four sisters, Elsie Stuthman and Lorraine Saalfeld, both of Columbus, Edna Brown of Omaha, and Leona Jones of Fremont; three grandchildren; 17 stepgrandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.
