      Minnie was the oldest child in her family and the one to discover her Mother's body, following her suicide attempt, after which she died. Her father was unable to keep the family together and sent Minnie and her brothers to the Ebenezer Orphan's Home in Flat Rock, OH. in January, 1896. Eventually she was sent to the home of Dr. and Mrs. Sommers of Cleveland as a nanny. The Sommers became very fond of her.[ColfaxDeutschlandPlatte.FBK.FTW]
