COLUMBUS -- Lillian (Hake) Hillen, 81, of Columbus, formerly of Leigh, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, with the Rev. Terry Timm officiating. Committal is in Zion Cemetery in Leigh. Lunch is at the church school.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Leigh Memorial Chapel in Leigh.
Lillian was born Aug. 4, 1927, near Leigh, to Fred and Anna (Schmidt) Daniels. She attended Zion Lutheran School, graduated from Leigh High School and received a teaching certificate so she could teach school in the Leigh area.
On March 2, 1947, she married Vernon Hake at Zion. He died in 1984. On June 5, 1987, Lillian married Lawrence Hillen at Zion. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh where she taught Sunday school. She was active in Ladies Aid, Kitty Clover 4H Club leader for over 25 years, loved sewing, cooking, gardening, singing and caring for her cat. She was also a member of the Goldenrod and Merry Farmerette Extension Clubs. She enjoyed square dancing with both husbands for many years.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Columbus; son, Wayne (Karen) Hake of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters, Dianne Hake (Bob) Tucker of Wichita, Kan., Marcia Hake (Dan) Karel of Seward, Gloria Hake (Glen) Wiemer of Creston and Michelle Hake (Doug) Jebens of Kearney; step-children, Glen (Karen) Hillen and Lois (Darwin) Franzen of Leigh; 12 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; one step great-grandson; three brothers, Herb Daniels of Howells, Leo Daniels of Norfolk and Don Daniels of Leigh.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Hake and two infant sons, Gary and Vernon Hake.
Memorials are to the familys choice.
