COLUMBUS -- Elaine M. Asche, 69, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at her home.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiating. Interment will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, rural Columbus.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are family choice.
Elaine M. Asche was born Feb. 11, 1938, in Dodge, to Theodore and Lillian (Cernin) Cech. She graduated from Clarkson High School, and on July 9, 1955, she was united in marriage to Eldon Asche at Christ Lutheran Church. Elaine was very involved with her children's activities including sports and 4-H. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and doing crafts which she would sell at craft shows. Elaine worked outside the home beginning in 1980, first at Sherwin Williams, The Designers Inn, and finally at Diamond Vogel where she worked until her retirement.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Eldon Asche of Columbus; son, Lyle (Janese) Asche of Loveland, Colo.; daughter, Kim (Ron) Mohr of Columbus, son, Greg (special friend Cheryl Pelan) of Lusk, Wyo.; daughter, Michelle (Dan) Hellbusch of Columbus; son, Dan (Claudia) Asche of Columbus; grandchildren, Kenton and Joelle Asche; Ryan and Austin Mohr; Elysia, Derek and Courtney Asche; Dylan and Kaden Hellbusch; Brent, Jarod and Kailee Asche; sister, Ione (Melvin) Horst of Norfolk; sister, Margaret Groteluschen of Creston; and brother, Elden (Ruth) Cech of Clarkson.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Lillian Cech; son, Thomas Asche; and one infant son.
