From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, September 10, 2003-
CHULA VISTA, Calif. - James E. Buchholz, 77, of Chula Vista, Calif., died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, in Chula Vista.
Burial was in Fort Rosencranz, Point Loma, Calif. Arrangements were handled by Community Mortuary in Chula Vista.
Mr. Buchholz was born Sept. 22, 1925, to Emil and Clara (Grotelueschen) Buchholz in Columbus. He attended Christ Lutheran School of rural Columbus and graduated from St. John's Academy in Winfield, Kan.
He served five years in the Armed Forces, three in the Merchant Marine and two in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at Rohr Aircraft in San Diego, Calif. for many years as a mach-up mechanic and estimator.
He married Joyce Gilder on Dec. 28, 1971.
Survivors include four brothers, Fred (Lois) Buchholz of Sutherland, Mark (Christina) Buchholz of Lincoln, Wallace (Phyllis) Buchholz of Lancaster, Calif., and Steve Buchholz of Chula Vista; and two sisters, Miriam (Bill) Schlegel of Chula Vista and Priscilla (Fred) Telschow of Valparaiso, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and his parents.
