From THE COLUMBUS (NE.) TELEGRAM, May 25, 2007-
MADISON - Funeral services for S. Yvonne Barr will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2007, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Madison. Burial will be in the Stanton Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Resseguie Funeral Home in Madison.
Mrs. Barr died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Faith Regional Health Services West Campus.
Yvonne was born on Feb. 26, 1919, in Stanton County, the daughter of Conelly J. and Susie (Taylor) Roberts. She graduated from Stanton High School and then married George M. Barr on March 17, 1937, at the Methodist Parsonage in Madison. The couple farmed on the Mortimer Ranch in Stanton County for 25 years and in 1960 they began the Columbian Feed Warehousing and Distributions in Madison. They moved into Madison in 1961. She later worked at the Madison County Court House and the Madison Star Mail.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women's Society, and Genesis Circle. She had a passion for music.
Surviving Yvonne are her two daughters and their husbands, Judy and Dick Reininger of Phoenix, Ariz.; Cindy and Tom DeGroot of Madison; one daughter-in-law, Jane Barr of Columbus; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, G. Donald; and one daughter, Mary Ann Barr; three brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, G. David Barr.
